It is located about 500 km from Cairo and was declared a nature reserve in 2002, with a total area of ​​3010 square kilometers, and it was called the White Desert because the white color covered most of its parts.


The reserve is distinguished by the fact that it looks like a piece of the Arctic or the icy Siberian desert, and its rocks date back to the Cretaceous period, which dates back to 70 million years ago, and was formed as a result of the inundation of the Tethys Sea in that region.

Abu Galum Reserve

The list also included, among the most prominent nature reserves in Egypt, Abu Galum Reserve, which is a multi-purpose nature reserve.


It is located in the South Sinai Governorate in Egypt, overlooking the Gulf of Aqaba on the road between Sharm El-Sheik and Taba, in an area called Wadi Al-Rassa. It was declared a nature reserve by a decision of the Egyptian Prime Minister in 1992.


Abu Galum Reserve is characterized by a special topography in which the mountains are close to the beaches, and the reserve is also famous for the presence of an underwater network of caves that descends more than 100 meters.

Wadi El Gemal Reserve

Among the most prominent and famous Egyptian reserves, also comes the Wadi El-Gamal Nature Reserve, which is a Sohar Reserve located in the south of the Red Sea Governorate, with a total area of ​​7,450 square kilometers.

The grass and thus the tribes knew where to find stray camels, so the area was called Wadi al-Jamal to gather the camels there.

Nabq Nature Reserve

Among the most prominent nature reserves in Egypt, comes Nabq Nature Reserve, which was declared a nature reserve in 1992.


This reserve is located on the Gulf of Aqaba in the area between Sharm El Sheik, Dahab, and Wadi Um Adawy in southern Sinai. The reserve is about 35 km north of Sharm El Sheik.


What distinguishes the reserve is that it contains all the ecosystems, animals, birds, and exotic coral reefs, some of which are found only in Nabq, including 86 species of natural plants in Nabq that have disappeared from the whole world.
